Due to a biblical storm the match, organised by local hero Adam Pritchard, needed to be switched to the rec’s artificial wicket with U10 pitch-sized boundary. The result was carnage.

Test match Mauder opened for Redbourn and defied his nickname hitting multiple boundaries, retiring on 30 off 10 balls. His opening partner James was more content accumulating singles. Josh and Benno also retired on 30 in approximately 10 balls each. Adam made the biggest contribution to the total with 40 off his 2 overs and a dropped catch. With a world record 200 from 15 overs looking out of reach George bludgeoned 28 off 5 balls. As always he choked at the end and RCC finished on 199.

A run rate of just over 13 an over was going to be tough for the paramedics. Their task was made harder by the opening bowling swing of Wrighty and the mix of slower balls from Oscar. Fielding highlight was an amazing diving stop (/drop) by Razor whose incredible dive managed to reach a ball literally a whole foot to his right.

The match was set up for Adam to rescue the chase, and he did not disappoint being bowled 2nd ball by George. Two paramedics hit some big 6’s and with the assistance of a 17 ball over from Ed they needed 6 off the last ball for a famous win. Skipper Josh bowled his final ball into the block hole and RCC survived to win the game.
